This past weekend Keith and I went ice climbing in Gyeryongsan National Park just outside of Daejon. It was my first time ice climbing and I absolutely loved it! We were the only people at the crag and while the ice wasn't great, we were able to set up a top rop and each climb one route. It was awesome! It felt so good to be active, outside and to sleep under the stars. Somehow we were the only people in the climber's campground and the crazy guy who "managed" the place never asked for payment for our stay but did give us many packages of powdered coffee (one of the most popular forms of coffee in Korea).
Later this week we plan to head to O2 Ice Climbing gym one day after work for more ice climbing before we take off this weekend for another outdoor ice climbing trip! This coming weekend is Kujong (the Lunar New Year) and we have Monday and Tuesday off from work! These will be our first days off (other than weekends) since we have arrived in Korea and we are very much looking forward to a long weekend. Not to mention the fact that there will only be a 3 day work week when we return:) Kujong is bigger than Christmas and New Year combined so I am anxious to experience our first Korean holiday.
