Our current situation

The last week has by far been the most stressful since arriving in Korea. In the past 4 days our director and all but 2 of the Korean staff (teachers & administrative) were fired. On Monday we were told that the school was up for sale and that if it didn't sell by the Aug. 10th we would close. Two days later we were told we would stay open until Aug. 31. And NOW the plan has once again changed. We are going to stay open indefinetly. However, with all of the changes we fear that parents will not keep their kids signed up with the school. In the middle of all of this, we also found out that the rent for our flat hasn't been paid for over 2 months and that the school had until Aug. 15 to pay or it would be rented to someone else! Yikes! The school promised to take care of this so, we'll see. Today was another payday and we did get paid which is a huge relief. The company is promising to be able to pay us each month in addition to our bonus at the end of our contract if we stay. But we have no idea of how they will pull this off, they just keep telling us to trust them. We have exaclty 2 months left so we're going to hang around as long as we are getting paid or until the school closes. At this point, we have nothing to lose.
This week has had so many ups and downs, and having everything so up in the air has been extremely difficult. It was especially hard when I thought we were going to be able to come home early and then found out that the school wanted to stay open. But at least we're paid up to date and we only have a little time left before we come home. I'm just crossing my fingers that everything goes smoothly from here on out.
